'What is it ? A form of energy healing similar to Reiki - although its practitioners say its more powerful. Deriving its name from the theoretical existence of an energy 'vortex', it's a method of finding and cleansing negative energies in the body and mind. What does a session involve? You lie fully clothed on a bed while the therapist plots an invisible grid over your body, directing healing energy to where it is most needed, whether it is on a physical, emotional or mental level. The therapist places her hands either side of your head. Sometimes that's all they do, but they can also place their hands near a specific part of the body where the symptoms are felt. Even though the therapist does not touch the body, you will probably be able to feel the warmth from her hands. What are the benefits? Vortex Healing is said to work on both a physical and emotional level to release stress and move emotional blocks. It can lift depression and relieve insomnia and can also help neckache, backache and joint problems. Does
it work? 'The therapist will tell you that it does not bring instant
cures but at the very least I had a nice sleep,' says our tester. Others
report deep relaxation, happiness and wellbeing. |
