HEAL THE HOUSING DEPRESSION
Metro Property, May 2010
Selling your home can be a challenge but apparently the process could be much harder if your house is depressed. That's according to the experts behind space healing, a process which clears stuck energy in the home and replaces it with light and a positive energy.
Often house hunters say they get a 'feeling' if they like a home, and bad vibes could be due to the energy in the house, otherwise known as sick building syndrome.
To sceptics it will sound far-fetched but space healer Suzi Morris, says she has produced positive results from the process of curing a sick house.
She has been a healer for 30 years and trained with Lily Cornford, an expert in the field and founder of the Maitreya School of Healing.
Morris began space healing for properties about eight years ago after she helped a client, who was a building developer, sell his property.
'The property wasn't moving from the market but after I used my space-healing techniques it sold within ten days,' says Morris.
'I now do a lot of stately homes and houses in London, and anything that's not moving off the market.
'I'm extremely sensitive and can feel what's going on in a house,'
she continues. 'Some houses are depressed and have stagnant energies.
'Everyone living in a house leaves energy in it. It's not all bad but sometimes there's an energy that needs to be moved on.' So how exactly do you heal a property? One method is dowsing, where metal rods are used to detect areas of negative energy and geopathic stress – where the Earth’s magnetic field has been disrupted.
Morris enters every room of the house and the garden to channel a divine white light known as a vortex healing light. The whole process can take up to five hours and homeowners are often asked to get involved too.
Morris says: ‘I like people to participate. I often get the owners to hold the dowsing rods – when they start moving in different directions people can’t believe it.
‘If you want to sell your house this can help because on some level people always pick up on what a place feels like.
‘The building afterwards feels very light and much happier and the rooms can appear larger.’
Space healing has a darker side and isn’t just about clearing a slightly negative energy. It’s not unusual for a space healer to be called in to treat houses that are haunted. One house Morris ‘treated’ was said to have a live-in poltergeist that would shout, smash plates and bang doors – not the most loveable of tenants.
‘It’s more common than you’d think but people tend to keep quiet about it,’ adds Morris. ‘I’ve been into places that are haunted. A lot of the people have been so petrified that they can’t live in the house and very often leave. I’ve worked on places where people have committed suicide too and I’m able to release the spirits when they’re stuck.’
There is no scientific evidence to back up the promises of space healing, and no guarantee that
your house will sell straight away because of it.
For those of you who do believe though, giving your home a new lease of life is a worthwhile ambition when selling, whether that entails a spot of redecorating or calling in the space healers.
Prices for the space-healing service start at £400 and vary according to the size of your property.
Estate agency Fiveseventen, which is dedicated to properties with postcodes in the SW5, SW7 and SW10 areas, has linked up with Morris to provide a complimentary healing service to sellers.
The agency’s owner, Joanne Fenner, says: ‘Suzi told me how she’d worked for developers in the past, so I thought we could do something for our clients.
‘If you want her to come to your home we can arrange that free of charge if you list the property with us on a sole agency basis.
‘We’re trying to achieve the best possible price for our vendors in the quickest time, with a smooth sale.
‘The healing service is off-the-wall and I’m sure it’s not for everybody but we’re offering something completely different to other agencies, so why not?’
